National Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Amir Hussain on Sunday said that there were wide ranging possibilities of economic co-operation between Pakistan and Malaysia and both the countries would draw extensive benefits from these opportunities.
Talking to APP at Islamabad Airport on return from five-day official visit of Malaysia, the speaker said that there was a surge in trade and industry in South Asia, particularly in Malaysia and noted that Pakistan was also making rapid economic progress.
Chaudhry Amir said the bilateral visits of the parliamentary delegations were necessary for enhancement of mutual interaction between the people and parliamentarians of two countries.
He added these visits would open new vistas of mutual co-operation and strengthening economic ties. He said that Pakistan and Malaysia have same perceptions on all regional issues.
He said Malaysia supports Pakistan's efforts of peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue and establishing peace in the region for prosperity of its people.
He added both the countries had also unanimous views regarding war on terror and peaceful resolution of the problems confronting the Muslim Ummah.
The delegation during its visit called on King of Malaysia, the Deputy Prime Minster, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the President of Senate of Malaysia, the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Rector of IIUM and Chief Executive of the Malaysian Palm Oil Board.
