The Indian government has not taken enough steps for moving the peace talks forward as it is not sincere to settle the issues, including the core issue of Kashmir with Pakistan, said Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani.
He stated this while talking to a private TV channel on Sunday.
To a question about the suspension of peace talks by India, he said: "I think the way Indian government has been moving in the peace process with Pakistan has caused a big jolt to the peace in the region."
The minister said the decision was against the will of peoples of both countries who want peace in the region. He also termed the announcement against the spirit of all movements being carried out in the entire world for the cause of peace.
He also feared that the talks suspension announcement would encourage terrorist elements, saying that the Indian government has caused a major loss to all world-wide efforts for the cause of peace.
To another question that Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is also going to call upon the G-8 leaders to help prevent terrorism, Durrani said the international community already fighting against terrorism in which Pakistan is playing a key role and "G-8 nations as well as the United States are well aware of our position."
He said the Indian government while suspending the peace process has raised a big question mark to its own credibility of its sincerity to the cause of peace.
