The extra ordinary increase in the share of Balochistan in annual development budget allocations would help in bringing the province at par with rest of the country, Balochistan Additional Chief Secretary Qayyum Nazar Changezi said on Monday.
Talking to PTV, he said the share of the province in public sector development programme (PSDP) had been increased up to 15 percent from mere 3.5 percent in last few years.
Resultantly a number of development projects in various sectors, including communication, water, education, health and gas were being executed in fast pace. Six more cadet colleges and a law college would be constructed in the province, he said.
Electricity would be provided to all villages of the province by 2007. Besides, a separate Rs 01 billion has been allocated for providing electricity to far flung areas of Balochistan through solar and various other alternate sources.
About 35 percent budget of National Highway Authority (NHA) was being spent in constructing road infrastructure in the province. National Logistic Cell was also working on three road projects. This would reduce distance of Balochistan with Sindh by 200 km in some areas.
The NHA was working on around 12 mega road projects aiming at linking the province with rest of the country. Different projects were also continuing linking Gwadar with rest of the world.
It has already been decided to confer sizeable quota of federal jobs to local youth. Recently 2000 youth were employed in FC. This would help enhancing inter-provincial harmony, he added.
