The Mayor of Frankfurt, Mrs Petra Roth, opened Pakistani paintings of landscapes of different regions on June 29, 2006 in Germany, says a press release. Juergen Koening, Managing Director of Merck Marker Pakistan, explained to the audience the reason for setting the exhibition.
"Merck Marker for the last few years has been launching its annual corporate calendar, supporting Pakistani Art. During the launch of Calendar 2006, in November 2005 at the Mohatta Palace, Merck announced that all paintings by Pakistani painters would be taken for an exhibition in Germany."
He said the idea of the exhibition 'Malerei Aus Pakistan' (journey through Pakistan) was born with the Calendar 2006 by Merck Pakistan, It reveals glimpses of the diverse landscapes of all regions of Pakistan and is a contribution to project a modern and soft image of the country.-PR
