The government was urged to ensure proper training of professionals attached with its facilities envisaged to be installed with modern gadgets.
Speaking at the certificate distribution ceremony of the Institute of Ultra Sound and Imaging here the other day, medical experts said that heavy investment being made by the government at its facilities, scattered across the province, and stressed that these could only benefit the people to their optimum if personnel are fully trained.
"Proper maintenance enhancing longevity of the gadgets and their proper/safe application could only be ensured through adequate skill development of the relevant staff and professionals," they said.
The senior professionals also highlighted importance of regular refresher training for technicians associated with both government and private sector facilities.
Sindh Women Development Minister Dr Saida Malik, as the chief guest on the occasion acknowledging significance of the proposal expressed her pleasure that technicians from Sindh as well as other provinces and Azad Jammu Kashmir besides a few from Afghanistan as well as UAE were imparted training at the Institute.
Women Health Project Director Dr Sheeba Jan on the occasion said that 12 women staffers, inducted under the project, were also among the recipients of certificates. They successfully completed their training in ultra-sound imaging, doppler and so-forth. The Project director claimed that updated training of all relevant staffers was prerequisite for making the project worthwhile.
