Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz launched Pakistan Muslim League Centenary Sports Celebrations 2006 at a ceremony here on Thursday which was attended by federal ministers, PML central office-bearers, representatives of the countrywide sports federations and some prominent sportsmen.
Addressing the ceremony, Shaukat Aziz said that PML has organised various functions to commemorate 100 years of founding of the party, which achieved a separate homeland for the socially, politically and economically oppressed Muslims of the Sub-continent under the dynamic leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that all the sports events have been named Quaid-e-Azam Cup Sports Tournament to ensure maximum participation of the people. He was confident that these sports events involving all the prominent sportsmen and teams of the country would be a source of forging greater unity, brotherhood and oneness among the people. He said we should learn the spirit of sportsmanship and promote tolerance, fairplay, discipline, give and take and acceptance of others rights.
