Planning and Development Department, Punjab has decided that for unapproved scheme, September 30 would be the final cut-off date and afterwards unapproved schemes would be capped and their funds would be diverted to some fast moving schemes.
According to an official said here on Thursday, in case of complicated schemes where formalities like land acquisition, model studies or preparing design is not completed, such schemes would be deleted from the ADP in the month of November. "During the past month the department has been entrusted with many new responsibilities and as such the scope of responsibilities of the department has been broadened. During the course, the department has also taken various measures to ensure that no development programme coming to it should be stuck up.
It has been decided that all developmental schemes, new or on-going, would be pursued on monthly basis by the concerned members of P&D with the line departments whereas the same would be discussed quarterly, six monthly and yearly basis at the relevant platforms to see that the project should be completed within stipulated period, if not earlier than its fixed time," he added.
