Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said Pakistan wants peaceful settlement of all outstanding issues with India including the core issue of Jammu & Kashmir in line with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir to ensure sustainable peace in the region.
The Prime Minister was talking to Azad Jammu & Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan, who made a farewell call on him at the Prime Minister's house on Friday.
The Prime Minister said the Pakistani government is committed to the process of composite dialogue with India and the process must continue uninterrupted so that the three parties to the Kashmir issue - India, Pakistan and the people of Kashmir - arrive at an acceptable settlement of the dispute.
He said the government was making all-out efforts for the early rebuilding and rehabilitation of earthquake-affected areas with the determination to transform this adversity into opportunity by providing better facilities to the people than what they had before October 8.
The Prime Minister appreciated services rendered by Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan during his tenure as AJK Prime Minister and said he was able to govern in an efficient manner and served the people with utmost dedication and his services will be remembered for a long time.
The AJK Prime Minister thanked Shaukat Aziz for his support for the development of AJK and relief and rehabilitation of earthquake-affected areas of AJK and the cause of the Kashmiri people.
He also appreciated the moral, political and financial support provided by the government and people of Pakistan to the Kashmir cause and said the concern and dedication shown by the people from Karachi to Khyber during the earthquake will never be forgotten by the people of AJK. The Prime Minister wished Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan all the best in the future.
