Three international universities would set up their campuses along the proposed motorway from Lahore to Sialkot while three industrial estates would also be established. This was informed in a meeting of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway Steering Committee, which was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Secretary Salman Siddique, here on Friday, disclosed an official.
Planning & Development, Chairman Salman Ghani, Secretary Finance, Secretary Communication and Works, head of PMU and representatives of concerned departments were also present on the occasion.
The meeting was informed that two of the above-mentioned universities would be established by Germany and one by Sweden. The process of selection of the sites for the universities and industrial estates is in final stage. These projects will go a long way in the development of the respective areas besides generation of thousands of job opportunities.
