Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco) has regularised its 954 contractual workers of different cadres during the current year-2006, says Chief Executive, Iesco Brigadier Shahbaz Azam talking to APP on Sunday.
He said total 3,842 contractual employees were regularised in Iesco during period 2003-06 on completing their three-year service following set procedure.
He said during the period the contractual employees were regularised from BPS-1 to BPS 17.
The Chief Executive said out of total 954 contractual employees regularised this year, 160 were among Line-Superintendent-II besides 125 Meter Readers, 43 drivers and 603 ALM.
He said currently total 11,983 employees are working with the company out of which 1,530 are contractual employees while 149 are daily wages attached with Iesco. He said in total as many 995 contractual employees are technical staff while 535 are non-technical staff. He said the company earned a profit of Rs 3.331 billion as per audited accounts during fiscal year 2004-05 while in current year the tentative profit is Rs 2.767 billion.
The Chief Executive said the maximum power load recorded in current year is 1211 MW against 1187 MW of last year and 994 MW recorded in year 2003-04. He said that the load will further increase in future and predicted at 2094 MW by year 2009-10.
He said the power load recorded in current month is 1375 MW which is 164 MW higher than the last month's load.
