An amount of Rs 3.3 million has been allocated for welfare and development projects of women belonging to rural areas of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) under Public Sector Development Programme of the current fiscal year.
Women Programme Officer ICT Mrs Seema Tauseef said that loans would be provided under women credit programme so that rural women can start their own business on small scale." An amount of Rs 1.5 million have been allocated for this purpose," she added.
She said an amount of Rs 500,000 has been earmarked for cattle breeding. Seema Tauseef said that computer literacy centres are functioning in eight union councils to promote computer literacy.
She said Rs 800,000 has been reserved for basic and advance computer courses among school children and women. Similarly, an amount of Rs 500,000 have been allocated for training in glass painting, flower making, embroidery and sewing. She hoped that women would get maximum benefit from these projects.
