Book on Hudood ordinance launched

Amidst the current heated debate on Hudood ordinance, the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) had launched a book on the issue written by Justice Muhammad Taqi Usmani (R).
The book entitled "Hudood Qawaneen: Maujuda Behs aur Ainda Layha Amal" (Hudood Ordinance: The Current Debate and Future Strategy) examined in detail the different sections of the ordinance that had been a source of dispute for very long.
Justice Muhammad Taqi Usmani (R) had been adjudicating the cases of Hudood Ordinance for more than 17 years in Federal Shariat Court and Supreme Court Shariat Appellate Bench.
The book was based on the writer's personal experience of adjudicating Hudood cases and the research study of the topic in light of the Islamic jurisprudence and Pakistani law.
