Modest trading was seen on the grain market on Tuesday as grams prices turned higher due to tight supplies from the upcountry centres, dealers said. On the grams side, gram Garda punjab picked up Rs 50 to Rs 3025-3100,Gram Dal garda Punjab followed suit and picked up Rs 50 to Rs 3500-3575.
Yellow peas Canada inferior type gained Rs 65 to Rs 1450 and better variety was up by Rs 50 to Rs 1500. Beetle chana No 1 shed Rs 25 to Rs 3125-3200 and beetle 50x50 also dropped by Rs 50 to Rs 3050-3125, they observed.
On the cereals side, Wheat Mexipak (old) Canada quoted higher at Rs 1115-1120 and wheat Mexipak (new) was available at Rs 1130-1135, dealers said. Guwar low type shed Rs 50 to Rs 1800 while the good type did not show any change at Rs 2100, they said.
On the rice sector, Irri-6 Sindh gained Rs 10 to Rs 1340 and Irri-white gained the same amount at Rs 910-930, they added. On the seed sector, cottonseed oilcake with bag was higher by Rs 5 to Rs 690-695, other items maintained the same levels, they said.
