The revised scheme of dualisation of 7.66-km of Faisalabad-Satiana Road, district Faisalabad, has been approved by the planning and development board Punjab. The revised cost would be Rs 147.607 million and the work on the project was already in progress and the scheme was resubmitted to revise its design and cost.
According to a P&D board's spokesman here on Friday, the scheme was originally approved for an amount of Rs 108.410 million but the Minister for C&W Chaudhry Zaheer ud Din during inspection at site pointed out that there was a stretch of this road between 7.14 km to 7.40 km which was having sharp curves posing serious traffic hazards. On the instructions of the minister, the scheme was redesigned and a revised estimate was submitted to the P&D board for approval.
It may be mentioned here that this project also include the construction of two bridges one at Maduana drain about 4,762 sq. ft. and the other at City Drain about 4,500 sq. ft. besides improvement of by-pass chowk.
