Women Development Ministry has enlisted 20 categories of women for Fatima Jinnah Awards to be given by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on July 31. Sources told Business Recorder that invitations had been issued to 60 women for their outstanding performance for uplift and empowerment of women.
Names of women councillors and parliamentarians who devoted their lives for political empowerment of women had been included in the list, they said.
Sources said that women from Navy, Police, Army, Airport Security Force (ASF), traffic and Motorway police would also be awarded for their outstanding performance.
Women government employees were also included in the list. Sources said the government employees would be selected from federal and provincial governments adding that disabled female government employees were also included in this category.
They said, women with outstanding service record from non-government and private institutions will also be given awards. There will also be a category for those males who had worked for the welfare and uplift of women, they said.
