Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Minorities Affairs Ijaz ul Haq said Arch Bishop of Canterbury praised the role of present government for the uplift of minorities and efforts on the part of the government to bring them in mainstream.
He was talking to newsmen after reaching Pakistan from tour of England and American. He said that during his meeting with Arch Bishop of Canterbury he told him about formulation of "Peace Committees" for inter faith harmony at district level.
The Bishop said that inter faith harmony is the need of hour and necessary for world peace. He told newsmen that Bishop of Bred Ford would visit Pakistan soon.
While talking about his visit to United States he said that his meeting with Richard Boucher (Under Secretary of State) was very successful. He said that he briefed Boucher about Madrassah reforms programme which under secretary praised very much.
The Under Secretary said that the release of women from prisons is great step which shows enlightened vision of present government. He said that he attended international Kashmir Conference in United States along with Yasin Malik and other Kashmiri Leaders. He said that Kashmiri Leadership praised the role of Pakistan for freedom movement.
While answering a question about not confidence move against Prime Minister he termed it's a conspiracy against democracy in Pakistan and said that Prime Minister has majority and it will give him a chance to show the confidence of Parliament on him once again.
