Islamabad put on alert to combat flood-like situation

Local Administration on Saturday put officials on alert to handle any flood-like situation in the capital. Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Chaudhry Muhammad Ali, put officials as well as concerned rescue agencies on alert to efficiently handle any flood-like situation that might emerge following Saturdays showers in the twin cities.
The administration has also asked the inhabitants of low-lying areas to be careful of flooding in the respective Nullahs. Muhammad Ali told APP that elaborate arrangements have been made to tackle any untoward incident, adding, Islamabad Administration in collaboration with other agencies was closely monitoring the situation.
He said a number of visit of low-lying areas were underway to meet any emergency. The Met Office forecast heavy rains with thunderstorm in Sindh, Eastern and Southern Balochistan on Sunday. Rain with thunderstorm is also expected at shattered places of Punjab, NWFP and Kashmir.
The highest temperature was recorded 45 degree centigrade on Saturday at Nokkundi. Temperature was also recorded at Islamabad 31 degree centigrade, Lahore 32, Karachi 33, Peshawar 33, Quetta 37, Muzaffarabad 33, Multan 38 and Gilgit 37 on Saturday.
