Former justice Tanvir Ahmed Khan, Chairman of National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC), Karachi bench, took serious notice on constitution of divisional bodies of Pakistan Telecom Employees Union (CBA) in different regions by Secretary General Rana Muhammad Tahir.
Through notifications issued on June 28 and 29, he issued stay order till Sep 19, 2006 and directed the general secretary not to further constitute other committees solely in this manner without participation of managing committee.
NIRC chairman observed that Article 11 and Article 11 (xii) of the constitution of the Union reveals that managing committee was empowered to change or organise the regional, divisional bodies and bodies recently formed by general secretary are violation of the Union constitution.
Regional Secretary Multan, M Saifuddin Qureshi called on General Manager MTR Ghulam Subhani and handed over a copy of the judgement of NIRC and also gave him the list of office-bearers, who are authorised to serve as bargaining agents.
The office-bearers include President Qazi Mehmood, Regional General Secretary M Saifuddin Qureshi, Chief Patron Malik Nazar Hussain, Senior Vice President Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed Munir, Vice Chairman Muhammad Arshad Chattha, Vice Presidents Munir Ahmed Dukhi, Malik Hanif, Sarfraz Nawaz, Deputy General Secretary, Haji Ghulam Mustafa, Assistant Deputy General Secretary Mama-Mairaj.
