A series of electric jerks/surges from KESC network on Saturday struck Pakistan Steel power supply system tripping main step-down sub-station (MSDS) and Thermal Power Plant (TPP) line, a press release of Pakistan Steel issued here, on Sunday said.
It said due to power surges Pakistan Steel was compelled to stop its rolling operations in order to save rolling mill equipment from any damage. However, other units which are necessary for continuos operation were kept running.
An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the reasons for erratic jerks from KESC, which resulted in tripping of plants and Pakistan Steel power generation system.-PR
