A retired judge heading an autonomous human rights commission in Indian occupied Kashmir (IOK) has resigned, arguing the government was not taking the body seriously, reports said on Tuesday.
Ali Mohammed Mir sent his resignation to the state governor S K Sinha on Monday, urging Sinha to relieve him of his duties by Tuesday, local newspapers reported. Mir headed the State Human Rights Commission to probe allegations of human rights violations in IOK.
