Pak-India Peace Initiatives (PIPI) has announced to postpone joint Indo-Pak Independence Day celebrations scheduled in Pakistan on August 14 on August 15 in India.
Awais Shaikh, President PIPI told newsmen, here on Thursday that the decision was taken after Indian allegations regarding involvement of Pakistan in Mumbai bomb blasts. 'We would announce next date after meeting with Indian host Kuldeep Nayyer,' he said.
He further said that the Indian government had issued visas to PIPI delegation consisting of four persons. The delegation will proceed to India on August 10.
The delegation will also visit Indian Kashmir and hold various meetings. He called for strengthening Indo-Pak relations for ensuring lasting peace in the region.
