Mepco asked to refund Rs 2.6 million to Rajanpur TMA

Reconciliation Cell of Punjab Power Department has directed the Multan Electricity Power Company (Mepco) to refund Rs 2.6 million to TMA Rajanpur for sending an illegal detection bill to 26 TMA's buildings while declaring defective meters.
A spokesman of Punjab Power Department informed that TMA Rajanpur filed an application to the reconciliation cell of Punjab Power Department that Mepco had sent a disputed electricity bill amounting to Rs 2.6 million on 26 defective meters installed at government buildings.
Chief Engineer Power Punjab, Chaudhry Yaqoob directed the Incharge Reconciliation Cell, Iftikhar Ahmed Randhawa to visit Rajanpur and probe into the matter. Incharge Reconciliation Cell, Iftikhar Randhawa went to the spot among the concerned authorities of Mepco and checked the disputed meters. He found that 21 out of 26 electricity meters were absolutely correct and rest of five were defective. The incharge directed the Mepco to refund Rs 2.6 million to TMA Rajanpur and the defective five meters should be changed immediately.
