A 22-member Pakistan deaf cricket team is leaving for England on Saturday (August 5) to take part in a two test and three ODI series against England, and the tour has been sponsored by Bank Alfalah Limited.
This was disclosed by Nadeem Zafar, team's manager and coach, in a press conference here on Thursday. Pakistan Deaf Cricket Association (PDCA) President Abdul Salam, Bokhari Khawaja, Executive Incharge of Human Resource Division of Bank Alfalah, and the cricket team were also present on the occasion.
Nadeem maintained that the first ODI would be played on August 8 while the first three-day test would start on August 9. The team would also take part in a 20/20 match on August 18 and the tour would conclude on August 20," he added.
He averred that the team was in a good shape, and morale and hopes are of winning the series in England, which was the Pakistan deaf cricket team's first visit to the UK.
Team's captain Zaka Ahmed Qureshi said that this is their first series in England and they are very optimists of winning it. "We would give our full commitment during the series and the team was fully fit," he added.
Bokhari Khajawa said that the bank always supports an activity that entails a healthy cause. He further said that the bank is at the forefront in the promotion of sports through contributions, endorsements and sponsorships. "Keeping up with the caring spirit, the bank has sponsored the PDCA for its team's tour to England. The sponsorship leads towards the healthy encouragement of the special people as well as for the expansion and further development of PDCA," he added.
