Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani has said that the mega corruption scandals of ARD leadership are bringing bad name to Pakistan.
Addressing a news conference at the Parliament House cafeteria here on Friday, he said the PPP general council should ask its leadership to tender resignation after the decision of London Court over the Surrey Palace.
Senator Durrani said although the government could issue a white paper each day on the corruption of PML-N leadership, but it would not waste the national resources and time as the whole nation already knew well the corruption of the leadership of this party.
To a query, Senator Durrani said the mega corruption scams of ARD leadership are bringing ignominy to the country as Asif Zardari is pleading for ownership of the Surrey Palace in a court of law in London.
"Though Asif Zardari did not mention his ownership of the Surrey Palace in his electoral statements, he is pleading for ownership of the palace which is defaming not only him but also the country," he said.
He was of the view that such an issue was a source of shame for the PPP leadership who had held the highest offices of the country. He said the ARD general council and legislators should ask its leadership to tender resignation after the decision of the London Court.
Senator Durrani said though PPP had a vote bank and its members had been elected to the parliament, but its leadership was facing corruption cases in different courts of the world.
"As a member parliament, I urge the ARD to flush out corrupt leaders who are bringing bad name to the country," he said and added such cleansing would ensure the sanctity of political system in the country.
