A two-day training workshop for local Police Officers was started in the CPLC Headquarter at Peoples Colony Model Police Station. The National Council for Human Rights arranged this workshop in collaboration with Citizen-Police Liaison Committee.
Addressing the inaugural session of the workshop, the CPLC Chief, Saqib Shahzad said that the training being imparted to Police Officers would help improve their attitude towards general public and thus ensure the protection of fundamental rights of the people. He added that the CPLC has bridged the gap between Police and the citizens and thus paved the way for improvement of the efficiency of Police Officials and rendering of legal help to people.
He said that the Police Officers should inculcate the spirit for solution of public problems by rendering them all possible help when they approach the Police. He added that only through this method, the Police and citizens could curb the crimes through mutual understanding and co-ordinated struggle.
Dr Muddasar of GC University also stressed the need for joint efforts of Police and citizens for eradication of crimes and social ills from the Society.
Executive Director, National Council for Human Rights, Rao Zafar Iqbal Advocate while addressing the workshop said that we should bring drastic changes in the society by eliminating the grass-root ills. He added that the close liaison between Police and citizens could minimise the crimes. He lauded the efforts of CPLC for rendering free legal help to people through its Legal Help Desk.
