With the objective to foster struggle against feudals, capitalists and usurpers, the Muttehida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will hold a public meeting in Lahore at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 13.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar told newsmen here on Sunday that through this gathering on August 13, his party would convey the message to the people of Punjab that MQM is a party of poor people of the country which is struggling for their empowerment.
He said that during a short span of time, MQM had received overwhelming public response in Punjab. With the conveying of his party's message at grsss-roots level, MQM would soon appear as the most popular political party in Punjab, he said, and added that MQM was following people-friendly policies and focusing on the welfare of the people of the country.
He said that some people were levelling baseless allegations against MQM. "We have remained spotless of such allegations in the court of the masses. MQM is a patriotic and popular political party of the country, which has always struggled for betterment of the country and welfare of the people."
He said that organisational setup of MQM was being completed in Punjab, and the August 13 public meeting would prove a great success. He said that "this congregation will prove" a milestone in the history of Pakistan as well as MQM.
He said that successful public meetings in Faisalabad and Bahawalpur were proof of increasing popularity of MQM in Punjab. Shahid Latif, Waseem Aftab and Dr Ali Hussain Rana were also present on the occasion.
