The Punjab government has approved a grand project of establishing an international standard milk plant near Sambrial here with a total cost of Rs 250 million in active collaboration with the local private sector for catering the milk and dairy needs of the people.
According to sources, more than 50,000 livestock owners of Gujranwala region would benefit under provincial government's dairy development programme.
The Punjab government has allocated Rs 250 million for this project, which would soon be started and 500 milk collection centers would also be established in the nearby urban and rural areas, besides, establishing more than 50 chillers, 50 cure centers in this milk plant's jurisdiction, which would also be helpful to produce 100,000 liters milk daily, 2000 bags of feed for the livestock in the proposed milk plant every month.
The 160 veterinary doctors and relevant staff and more than 600 non-skilled staff would also be appointed there.
