A lawmaker of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday regretted opting for the upper house membership, and not being member of the Balochistan assembly.
"I regret on becoming a senator. It would have been far better to be an MPA. We can't resolve the masses' problems. What I have done for my people from this platform since 2003," quipped Pari Gul Agha, the spouse of Raja Basharat, a minister in Punjab government.
She called upon the Chairman Senate Mohammedmian Soomro to pass a strict order that should 'shake the entire cabinet', as ministers often skip the House business.
"You should vent your anger, as does the National Assembly speaker, and make sure ministers attend the proceedings and carefully listen to the problems raised in the House," she emphasised.
Pari Gul Agha reacted strongly to another ruling PML Senator Tahira Lateef's advice, who wanted her to first say this to Raja Basharat. "I am talking about the Senate and my role. He is doing his job in Punjab," she clarified.
The chair promised to take strict note of the matter.
