Punjab Provincial Co-operative Bank Limited (PPCBL) is issuing loans of Rs 200,000 to women co-operative societies to ensure participation of women in national development. PPCBL General Manager Raja Allah Bukhsh stated this at a briefing given to Co-operatives Registrar Hassan Iqbal here on Tuesday.
He said the PPCBL was disbursing the loans of more than Rs 9 billion per annum according to the target given by SBP to small farmers through agricultural and industrial co-operative societies.
The bank is disbursing loans for the purchase of tractors and agriculture machinery, setting up of dairy farms and purchase of sheep.
Punjab Co-operatives Registrar directed officers of the bank to provide all out facilities to the small farmers and others following the directions of the Punjab government and State Bank of Pakistan in letter and spirit.
