The government has evolved an affective export strategy to boost up country's exports concentrating on new areas of production besides adopting new initiatives and exploiting the advantages created due to ending of quota system.
After abolition of quota system the Pakistani exporters have to make extra efforts to compete with other competitors in the international market.
Enhancing of exports and achieving higher growth rate for the economy may greatly help to achieve the desired goals in the competitive world.
The seven-point strategy envisages attainment of increased penetration of best performing core product categories in the top 10 respective countries and it may selectively increase the penetration of the core production categories in the next 10 top countries.
According to official sources the exportable items have been classified into two categories ie The items of Textile Garments, Raw Cotton Yarn, Fabrics, Garments, Made ups, Towels and Art Silk and synthetic Textile have been included in Core Categories while Rice, Leather and its products, Sports Goods, Carpet and Wool, Surgical Instruments and Petroleum Products have been mentioned in Other Core Categories.
It had been decided to pursue enhancement of manufacturing and marketing capabilities and efficiencies with a view to achieve value addition and increase competitive strength for core product categories.
