A delegation of All Pakistan Power Looms Association (Appla) will soon call on Dr Salman Shah, Adviser to the Prime Minister, to present the grievances faced by the power loom sector.
In response to a request for a meeting received by the Prime Minister's secretariat from Central President of Appla Muhammad Ishaq, the Military Secretary to the Prime Minister has requested Dr Shah that the Prime Minister has desired to meet him (Appla President) with a delegation immediately.
Ishaq in his letter to the PM had thanked him for granting approval for the new policy for SME sector. Under the policy small industries would also be entitled for all the facilities being extended to large industries. He said that in the budget zero rated sales tax was granted to the textile sector but only large units are getting this facility.
He had requested that zero rated facility in sales tax in the case of electricity and gas should also be extended to small units as well. Copy of the letter was also sent to Chairman, Central Board of Revenue and Dr Salman Shah.
