Corn futures at the Chicago Board of Trade were lower early on Tuesday on a turn to cooler temperatures and showers in the US Midwest Corn Belt, traders said. The moderate weather will help put the finishing touches on the crop, which is entering its mature dent-stage of development as its ear-filling stage wanes.
At 10:27 am CDT (1527 GMT), CBOT corn was down 1-1/2 to 3 cents per bushel, with September down 1-1/2 at $2.38-1/4 per bushel. New-crop December was down 1-3/4 at $2.55-1/4 per bushel.
