The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is working on plan to establish a centralised Emergency and Disaster Management Cell (EDMC) in Islamabad, which expected to be finalised soon.
Minister of State for Interior, Zafar Iqbal Warriach informed the National Assembly during question hour on Wednesday that Cell will focus on centralisation of command and control and integration of resources in use of different government agencies working in the Capital to meet emergencies.
To another question he said the CDA was also engaged to improve recreation facilities in Capital and was working on a plan to develop and upgrade various parks in different sectors besides Pir Suhawa, Rose and Jasmine Garden and Fatima Jinnah Park.
The minister said the CDA had developed 17 new public parks in various sectors besides upgrading of 13 parks in various sectors during the last financial year.
