The taxpayers have been allowed to deposit sales tax and federal excise duty (FED) in 27 more designated branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). The CBR has amended SRO.524(I)/2006 through an SRO.802 issued on Wednesday.
Taxpayers operating within the jurisdiction of the Collectorate of Sales Tax (HQ), Sales Tax House, Karachi, and Large Taxpayer Units, Karachi can also deposit sales tax and excise duty at the NBP branches of Malir Cantt and PAF Base Masroor, Karachi. Fifty-five branches are already authorised to collect sales tax and excise duty in Karachi.
Within the jurisdiction of the Collectorate of Customs, Sales Tax and Federal Excise, Hyderabad, the Board has designated 13 more branches, including Bakrani Distt Larkana; Dokri, Distt, Larkana; Gambat Branch, Distt, Khairpur Mirs; Garhi Khairo, Distt, Larkana; Garhi Yasin, Distt, Shikarpur; Johi Distt, Dadu; Kamber Ali Khan, Distt, Larkana; Miro Khan, Distt, Larkana; Nasirabad, Distt, Larkana; Naudero, Distt, Larkana; Ratodero, Distt, Larkana; Thana Bula Khan, Distt, Larkana and Warrah, Distt, Larkana.
The taxpayers have been allowed to deposit taxes at the Minchanabad district Bahawalnagar within the jurisdiction of Collectorate of Customs, Sales Tax and Federal Excise, Multan.
Taxpayer registered with the Collectorate of Sales Tax and Federal Excise, Rawalpindi can now also deposit taxes at the Ghalla Mandi, Chakwal.
Nine more NBP designated branches have been added to the jurisdiction of Collectorate of Customs, Sales Tax and Federal Excise, Peshawar. The branches are Civil Sectt Branch, Peshawar; KDA Township, Kohat; Kulachi; Namak Mandi, Peshawar; Officer Colony, Peshawar; Pabbi District, Peshawar; Risalpur Cantt; Saddam Shopping Center, Tank and Taru Jabba, District Peshawar.
The bank branches designated under the SRO.524(I)/2006 were authorised to receive payment of federal excise duty under the Federal Excise Act, 2006, the notification added.
