The Karachi Port handled 74,924 tonnes of cargo including 62,616 tonnes import, 12,308 tonnes export cargo and 3,891 containers during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The cargo comprised of 47,354 tonnes dry cargo including 38,813 tonnes general cargo; 4,183 tonnes sugar; 3,110 tonnes fertiliser; 1,248 tonnes rice and 27,570 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo. Four ships namely Apl Osaka, Mol Silver Fern, Jobus and MT Shalamar sailed out to sea during the report period.
Three vessels viz Hyundai Advance, Marcalabria and Zara III currently at the berths.
Five ships namely Hyundai Advance, Marcalabria, Marnedijk, Ocean Friend and Rickmers Doha expected to sail on Thursday, while another vessel viz Maersk Alabama is expected to sail on Friday.
Three vessels viz Maersk Alabama, Orient Independence and Ding Xiang Hai due to arrive on Thursday, while seven ships namely Rising One, SP 5-Eric G Gibson, Kota Perkasa, Maersk Arkansas, Pearl of Sharjah, Cosmic Challanger and Conti Express are due to arrive on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 33,520 tonnes furnace oil; 8,040 tonnes edible oil; 7,540 tonnes sugar; 2,109 tonnes cement; 5,596 tonnes iron ore; 4,205 tonnes LPG and 43,299 tonnes containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Xiang Wan, CV Acx Mimosa and MV Yong Xiang-9 sailed out to sea during the report period, while two more ships namely CV Mumbai Express and MT Navigator Pluto are expected to sail on Thursday. A total of four vessels viz Al-Wajba, Multan, Warbah and Bright Kosan are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two ships namely CV Al-Wajba and MT Anette Kosan due to take berths on Thursday.
Container vessel Ibn Sina due to arrive on Thursday, while four more ships namely CV Nedlloyd Muscat, MT liquid Success, MV Dixie Monarach and CV MSC Germany with containers, chemicals and coke are due to arrive on Friday.
