Chairman, National Vocational Technical Education Commission/Chairman Erra Altaf Saleem said on Friday that government was giving special attention towards revamping of technical education in view of emerging needs of the country.
Talking to PTV he said, National Vocational Technical Education Commission has a long-term policy and revamping programme. He further said that keeping in view the development and annual growth of the country, nearly one million skilled and qualified manpower and technical hands are required to sustain the growth. Altaf Saleem said, at present the country was producing nearly 0.2 million technical hands annually. He said, initially some short-term measures have been taken in the country to revamp the situation. Various steps are being taken in order to increase production of technical hands to a considerable number.
