Former National Assembly Speaker and senior Muslim League leader, Syed Fakhar Imam has criticised the unopposed election of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Mushahid Hussain, saying this trend was harmful for political system.
Talking to a private TV, Imam said that a negative trend was prevailing in the country that political parties were trying to reelect their leaders unopposed. The trend was affecting our political system.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Mushahid Hussain were elected unopposed as President and Secretary General in the PML General Council meeting on Friday. Fakhar Imam said he was surprised that Zafarullah Jamali withdrew his nomination, who had earlier declared to contest for the post of Secretary General.
