The election schedule for All Pakistan Cotton Powerlooms Association (APCPA) for the years 2006-2008 has been announced. The election process will start from August 16, 2006 and continue on September 25 with the announcement of the final results.
Giving details of the election schedule, APCPA Secretary, Malik Abdul Majeed Shad said that objections against addition or change in voters list would be received on August 16, while objections would be heard on August 19. Appeals against the decision of Secretary APCPA could be made with executive committee on August 22 that will hear and decide objections on August 24.
Malik Abdul Majeed said that the final voter's list would be issued on August 26 with the appointment of returning officer on August 29 to conduct the remaining election process.
Meanwhile, the nomination papers will be received on September 4 to elect the new office bearers of APCPA. Objections against nomination papers will be received on September 7 with its disposal on September 11.
The date for the withdrawal of nomination papers has been fixed as September 14, while final list of contesting candidates will be announced on September 16, 2006.
Election will be held in phased manner for the members of the executive committee and office bearers of the APCPA on September 23. Polling will continue from 0900am to 0500pm without any break.
Secretary APCPA, Malik Abdul Majeed Shad also announced that the annual general meeting of All Pakistan Cotton Powerlooms Association will be held at the factory side of Al-Haq Fabrics on Khurrianwala-Jhumra Road on September 23 in which the appointment of auditors will also be made. The final results will, however, be announced on September 25.
He clarified that the list of eligible voters up to 31st July 2006, which has already been dispatched to members can also be seen in the association head office during working hours.
