Zaiviji Ismail has been appointed as the chairman of Shell Companies in Pakistan and managing director, Shell Pakistan Limited (SPL) from September 1, this year.
Ismail has been a director on the Shell Pakistan Board since 2004, and is also a director on the Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) Board.
He hails from Malaysia and joined the SPL in March 2004 as the general manager of the retail business. Prior to joining SPL, he was the general manager of the retail business for Shell Oman Marketing.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Ismail has been associated with the Shell Group since 1990 and has worked in various facets of the company such as sales and operations, information technology (IT) distribution, change management, and business re-engineering.
Ismail, in the early years of his career, served with the Central Bank of Malaysia for a period of five years and the Malaysia Building Society Limited for nearly six years, including a short stint with the Abbey National Building Society of United Kingdom.-PR
