The Punjab Institute of Language Art & Culture (PILA&C) intends to start a non-stop 24-hour transmission through its own FM Punjabi radio channel very soon. For this purpose FM Punjab section was being set up.
The Director PILA&C, Dr Shaista Nuzhat informed that the institute which was established in 2004 to preserve and promote the Punjbai language, literature, art & culture and during this period, Institute did well to achieve its goal.
She said that presently the Institute was housed in a rented building but its own building was under construction and near completion adjacent to Al-Hamra Complex, Ferozpur Road.
The Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has allotted a piece of land measuring more than 12 kanal to construct a 3 storey building for which government allocated Rs 146 million. It would be a state-of-the-art building being completed under the supervision of country's known architect Nayyar Ali Dada and Associates. Building would be ready for shifting office by November or December.
Dr Nuzhat further told that an English-Punjabi dictionary was also under publication. Similarly, Dais Dian Waraan, Mirza Sahiban by Hayat Muhammad Khan (Gujrat), Punjabi 'Akhaan' and authentic version of Heer Waris Shah were also being published by the institute. She told that Institute would soon start publication of a monthly magazine namely 'Sulaikh' from next month and it would provide a base for the promotion of Punjabi Language Art & Culture.
