More than 15000 persons have moved away from the Katcha areas along the river Indus in Thatta district following alert issued by the district authorities.
Arrangements for providing temporary accommodation to the people affected by the flooding of Katcha areas have also been made in all the important tehsils including Jati, Ladio, Sujjawal, Keti Bander and Ghuhar Jamali.
The irrigation and police officials are on high alert along all the bunds in the Thatta area to ensure that the Indus flood waters do not cause any damage to people and their property.
