Slight recovery was seen in the open market on Wednesday as the rupee posted three paisa gain versus the dollar for buying and selling at 60.47 and 60.52, respectively.
Moneychangers said that the rupee inched up with small rise in its value on balanced demand and supply position, dealers said. The rupee, however, lost 20 paisa versus the euro for buying and selling at Rs 76.78 and 76.88, respectively. In the international markets, the dollar looked back and fell versus the major currencies ahead of the US inflation data, dealers said.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee recovered its earlier loss and appreciated its value by 10-paisa in relation to the greenback in the local currency markets on Wednesday.
According to the currency dealers, the dollar could not maintain rising trend due to increase in its supply. The dollar resumed trading at Rs 60.50 and Rs 60.60 as its buying and selling rates, respectively. However, it could not sustain and moved down to Rs 60.45 and Rs60.55 on buying and selling counters, respectively, the dealers added.
Similarly, the local currency maintained upward slide and further improved its worth against the pound sterling. The pound's buying rate declined from previous closing rate of Rs 113.60 to Rs 113.40, while selling rate fell down from Rs 114.00 to Rs 113.80, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee was plus by 15 paisa against the dollar at the open currency markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
The dollar opened at Rs 60.40 (buying) and Rs 60.50 (selling) against last rate of Rs 60.55 (buying) and Rs 60.65 (selling). It did not witness any further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 60.40 (buying) and Rs 60.50 (selling).
Pound sterling opened at opened at Rs 113.80 (buying) and Rs 114 (selling) against same last rate. It did not witness any further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 113.80 (buying) and Rs 114 (selling).
