The leaders of Pakistan Seraiki Party (PSP) has warned the Waderas, Feudal lords, and politicians of Seraiki zone who were supporting the present regime and getting concessions and privileges from the rulers, they could not get any shelter when a flood of Seraiki people would sweep them away.
The day was not far off when fifth federating unit of "Seraikistan" would emerge on the map of Pakistan and people would be able to attain their basic rights.
Addressing a meeting chaired by Barrister Taj Muhammad Khan Langah, the Seraiki leaders PSP Secretary General Mansoor Kareem Sial, Chief Organiser Sufi Taj Muhammad Gopang, Central Vice President Hasan Raza Bukhari, Additional Secretary Mumtaz Dahar, Secretary Information Shafqat Metla, PSP Multan President Malik Liaqat Ali Kamboh and PSP Multan district President Malik Ejaz Raan have demanded of the government to provide adequate relief to the millions of flood-hit people of DG Khan, Jhang, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Taunsa and Alipur who suffered heavy losses due to floods in Chenab and Indus rivers.
The meeting reviewed the havoc played by flood and strongly condemns failure of the government to start rescue and relief measures. It was informed at the meeting that thousands of villages, animals and katcha houses were washed away in DG Khan, Jhang, Layyah, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur.
The meeting through a resolution urged the government to allocate Rs 10 billions to provide relief to the flood-hit people on emergency basis. It was also demanded to send army troops to all affected areas to provide food, shelter and medicines to the flood-hit people.
Through another resolution, unanimously passed, it was demanded of the federal and provincial governments to start rehabilitation work in the areas and provide adequate compensation to the flood-hit people besides shifting the marooned people to the safer places.
