NetSol Technologies Limited has achieved the ultimate certification - Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 5 and thus joined the elite club of IT companies in the world. Chief Executive Officer, NetSol Technologies Limited Salim Ghauri revealed this while addressing a press conference, here on Saturday.
Executive Vice President of the company, Sajjad Kirmani was also present on the occasion. "There are only 94 companies in the world which have achieved this certification, out of which 20-25 are functioning in India. Now Pakistan has also emerged in the IT market globally", Ghauri said. Rayney Wong, an authorised appraiser of the Software Engineering Institute USA, has assessed NetSol Technologies and finally announced CMMI 5 Level for it, he maintained.
Without achieving, CMMI 5 Level, no company could participate in a bid for any mega project in the world and after certification, NetSol has become eligible for participation in bidding of multimillion project in the world, he said. This certification is pre-requisite for any company to take part in the bidding process for big IT projects all over the world, he added.
Briefing about the company's background, he said NetSol Technology which is IT service provider, had achieved ISO-9001 certification in 1998, and subsequently obtained CMMI Level 2, 3, and 4 and has been making persistent efforts for the last eight years to achieve the ultimate certification of quality.
He offered technical assistance to other IT companies which intend to achieve any level so that IT industry could be developed further in the country. Pakistan Software Export Board also provides 80-percent of the funds while the individual company has to contribute only 20-percent from its own resources to achieve such certification. Presently, the board is looking for five companies, which could be funded for CMMI levels.
