An outbreak of bluetongue disease found in Dutch sheep earlier this week has spread to sheep and cattle in neighbouring Belgium, the Belgian agency for food safety (AFSCA) said on Saturday.
The agency said symptoms of the disease were found in cattle and sheep on 11 farms in Liege and the Fourons area in the northern part of the country that borders the Netherlands. The cases have been notified to the European Commission.
