The government under the leadership of President Pervez Musharraf, and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz is striving for the solution of basic problems of the masses. For the first time in the history of Pakistan a big chunk of money Rs 435 million under developmental programmes have been sanctioned for the socio-economic uplift of the masses as well as under-developed areas.
This was stated by Chaudhry Shahbaz Hussain, Federal Minister for Population Welfare while addressing a big public gathering at Mohara Ghandi in Tehsil Sohawa on the eve of inauguration of electric supply to this area.
He said that promise to supply electricity to these villages was made ten months ago and by the grace of Allah, today it was fulfilled. Rest of the problems regarding water supply, roads construction, health centres in these remote area would be resolved on preferential bases.
He further said that those projects would be completed earlier which were already in pipeline. He urged the masses to elect only those representatives who were really striving for their welfare and socio-economic uplift.
Earlier, District Nazim Jehlum Farrukh Altaf, Nazim Sohawa, Nazim Pindadinkhan and other speakers addressed the function and drew the attention of the federal minister to other problems of the area.
They also assured the people to extend their co-operation in resolving the basic problems of the area. They pledged to make Sohawa an ideal and developed Tehsil.
It may be recalled that electricity supply has been provided to three villages Moharah Ghandi, Manzoorabad, Smahil, and Sir Ghadhan in Tehsil Sohawa.
