After the commissioning of single line alternate diversion provided after the collapse of 100-year old bridge near Ran Pathani railways station, some 70 km from Karachi, the railways traffic has now started inching towards normalcy.
On Monday despatched five good trains, each carrying a maximum of 2000 tons of cargo, and which were stranded here since the collapse of bridge.
Now the Railways authorities are handling the movement of about a dozen Up and Down express trains from Karachi, nine from Hyderabad and two from Kotri.
Divisional Superintendent Railways Karachi Mir Mohammed Khaskheli told newsmen that trains being handled from Karachi are Awami Express, Tezgam, Allama Iqbal Express, Korakoram Express, Balochistan Express, Karachi Express, Sindh Express, Haq Bahu, Shah Rukan Alam, Thar Express and Buraq Express.
The over-loaded Hyderabad station will now be handling Super Express, Faisalabad Express, Bahauddin Zakaria Express, Khawaja Fareed Express, Shalimar Express, Khyber Mail, Sukkur Express, Mehran Express and Shah Latif Express while Bolan Mail and Khush Hal Khan Khattak Express are being handled at Kotri station.
