Provincial Minister for Chief Minister's Inspection Team, Colonel Shuja Khanzada (Retd) has stressed upon private developers as well as owners of housing societies to construct high-standard low-cost houses for the low-income segments of the society.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar of housing and construction industry, here on Tuesday. Khanzada maintained that government is setting up housing colonies for low-income people in Hazroo, Murree, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Lahore.
He added that the government is patronising construction industry and Lahore has become a role model for others in this sector. He added that 40 industries are directly linked with construction industry. He said that promotion of the industry is resulting in progress of national economy and improvement of the living standard of the people.
He further said that the government is giving proprietary rights to the residents of Katchi Abadies. He informed that the government is preparing infrastructure for provision of basic amenities in Katchi Abadies.
