Sindh Chief Secretary, Fazalur Rehman on Tuesday asked the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) authorities to accelerate the pace of reconciliation of their dues with the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC), so that both entities could pay their outstanding water and electricity charges, amicably.
Presiding over a meeting here, he instructed the KWSB to form an error-free schedule of its water dues owed by the KESC. He stressed that practical steps should be taken to help clear outstanding water dues of KWSB.
He urged the KWSB administration to chalk out a proper strategy to recover its water dues from Sindh government departments, as well as, local governments. He asked the Sindh finance secretary and consultant regarding taking practical steps so that the outstanding dues of the KWSB could be got cleared.
He also ordered that after coping with the rain-related issues, a high level meeting of heads of all departments and organisations so that the matters of utility dues could be settled for good.
