Libya has assured that it would hire services of Pakistani professionals, skilled and semi-skilled workers to meet its local needs in various sectors. Federal Minister for Labour Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis Ghulam Sarwar Khan disclosed this while addressing a gathering of Pakistani community at the camp of Makco Pakistani Company in Libya on Tuesday.
The minister said that embassy of Pakistan in Tripoli is holding meetings with Minister for Manpower, Training and Employment, Matug Muhammad Matug, Minister for Higher Education Dr Ibrahim Zarrok Ashreef and Deputy Foreign Minister Muhammad Al-Barani in different areas of I.T, heavy mechanical industry, education, construction and oil and gas where Libya can hire manpower from Pakistan, he added. He said that Libyan authorities have shown interest particularly in the fields of information technology engineering and medicine. Libya, he said has 13 universities and 24 colleges, where Pakistani professionals could deliver their expertise.
Expanding and strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries was also discussed with their foreign minister, he added.
The minister highlighted the steps taken by the government for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis. He also listened to the problems faced by the community and assured for their solution. He asked the mission to extend maximum support to Pakistani community in resolving their problems.-PR
